It’s January and I’m coming out of my Christmas cookie coma and craving something green.
With the new year, I know a bunch of you are trying to incorporate healthier meals and recipes into your daily routine. Whether you want to start the day with a glass full of greens, or want a healthier choice for your afternoon slump, one of these green drinks (or all of these green drinks) is the perfect addition to your breakfast lineup.
Personally I’ve been craving some green juice lately, so I made these smoothies super silky smooth and liquid-y. I’m including some ideas in the notes for how to make these drinks thicker for a more spoonable smoothie experience, if you prefer.
First up, we have this kale, hemp, peanut butter drink that’s one of my faves. It’s based on THIS green smoothie recipe, but I thinned it out a bit by adding some more almond milk.
Kale Hemp Peanut Butter Smoothie
Start your morning on a green note with these three dairy free, sugar free green smoothies! They’re packed with yummy ingredients to fuel you for the day.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 leaves curly kale, de-stemmed
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon hemp hearts
Instructions
- Place the almond milk, banana, kale, peanut butter, and hemp hearts in the blender.
- Blend on high until completely combined and bright green.
- Add an additional tablespoon or two of peanut butter to taste and blend until combined.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Tips
- Make this a thicker, more spoonable smoothie by freezing your kale leaves or pouring your almond milk into an ice cube tray to freeze the night before before blending.
Second, we have the perfect celery zinger. This drink, to me, is perfect for when you really just want a kick in the butt, whether you’re feeling a cold coming on or want a pick me up. The celery is so refreshing, the apple gives it a nice sweetness, and the ginger adds a nice kick.
Spinach Celery Ginger Smoothie

Instructions
- Place the water, spinach, celery, apple, and ginger in the blender.
- Blend until completely combined.

Lastly, we have this tropical pineapple mango spinach smoothie. It has coconut cream in it to make it super thick and creamy.
