Chocolate granola is one of those kind of things that feels like you’re eating dessert but is actually perfect for any time of day.
I like granola without oats. Maybe that makes it more like a nutty trail mix, but let’s be honest, a trail mix always has one or two items that you avoid when your each your hand into that bag. For me, it’s the raisins.
For the record, raisins can be yummy, for some reason I’m weird and just don’t like them iiin things… soo…
I recently made my almond coconut granola and forgot how much I LOVE homemade granola! I need to start making it weekly just to have in and snack on.
Pile it on your yogurt, add it tow a bowl with some milk, or just snack on it plain! This one will be a repeat recipe for sure!

Ingredients to Gather
- pecans
- cashews
- unsweetened shredded coconut
- hemp hearts
- flax seeds
- coconut sugar
- cacao powder
- sea salt
- ghee, coconut oil or butter
- peanut butter
- agave nectar
- chocolate chips
How to Make this Chocolate Granola
Place your pecans, cashews, coconut, hemp seeds, flax seeds, coconut sugar, and cacao powder in a bowl.
If your nuts are already chopped, then you’re good to go. If they’re not, you may want to blitz them in a food processor or blender for a couple seconds to get them to be a good size. I tend to like mine a but more big and chunky.
In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk the ghee (coconut oil or butter also works), peanut butter, and agave nectar. Once it’s combined and thickened a bit, about 2 minutes, remove from heat and pour over the nut and seed mixture.
Fold the peanut sauce in until everything is completely coated.
Spread the granola out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Don’t worry if it’s a bit clumpy, those will end up being your delicious clusters!!
Bake in the oven for 12 minutes. use a spatula to gently toss the granola and bake for another 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before you sprinkle with additional sea salt and chocolate chunks.
