DIY lip scrub recipe uses only two ingredients: coconut sugar and coconut oil to replenish your lips. How-to instructions included!

DIY lip scrub has been my new favorite homemade beauty hack. I don’t know the deal is, but this summer my lips have been dry. They’re not a super chapped, peeling, wintery kind of dry, they’re more just like shriveled little burnt raisins kind of dry. Makes sense right?

Stay with me here, I have a theory. I don’t sunscreen my lips. I sunscreen my face and entire body, but I neglect my lips. And so, I think they get sunburnt without me realizing. And, as much as I was applying chapstick to bring my lips back to life, it felt like I wasn’t making any headway.

So I thought it would be fun to make a lip scrub to scrub away the dead skin left from the sun damage. A scrub to rejuvenate, to moisturize, and to replenish my lips with health and happiness.

How to Make Lip Scrub:

  • Mix coconut oil, coconut sugar, and vanilla bean powder in a bowl. The vanilla bean powder is optional but gives the scrub a great scent.
  • Transfer to a small container with a lid
  • Use your fingers to apply the scrub to your lips
  • Rub onto your lips for about 30 seconds and let it sit for 3 – 5 minutes
  • Wash off and repeat weekly or however often you wish!

More DIY Beauty Products:

  • homemade diy face oil
  • pumpkin spice honey sugar scrub
  • homemade rose bath bombs

This lip scrub recipes is as simple as mixing a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. I used my index finger to scrub it into my lips, I let it sit. I licked it a little because it tasted delicious, I applied more, let it sit again.

Then, I washed it away and I can’t tell you how excited I am about how soft and juicy my lips feel. Like pillows. I have silky smooth pillow lips and I cannot wait until my next scrub. What? I’m not weird, you’re weird.

And all this while, as I sat and scrubbed my lips and let my lips drink in the delicious moisture, my youngest son, Nolan, came up, and ate the entire little lip scrub container because #sugar and I can’t blame him.

Truth is, it’s made with sugar and while you’re letting it sit on your lips, I had a few licks. It’s delicious.
