Holiday Gift Guide 2019
This year’s gift guide is a bit different. First I made a list of things that I’ve been loving, especially eco-friendly items I use in my life. Then, I sent an Instagram story out asking people some of their favorite small businesses that they love. So, I’m sharing them as well 🙂 I hope you find some inspo for your gifting this year! I’d love to hear your favorites!! Comment on this this post with your favorite gifts and the small business you’re loving!!
CLOTH NAPKINS: We made the switch from paper napkins to cloth napkins a few years ago. We just fold them up and put them right in our napkin holder. The switch was so easy, we just toss them into the hamper and wash them with our laundry. I love that I don’t have to worry about buying napkins and love how cute the napkins are, plus it’s an eco-friendly choice that is so simple to implement in your life.
ADORABLE MUSTARD YELLOW MUG: I needed some new plates for some recipes I was shooting, came across these mustard yellow mugs and immediately fell in love. I bought two and can’t stop using them! Honestly, I use them as bowls for oatmeal and chili. But, obviously they’re great for coffee and hot chocolate too 🙂
TRAVEL UTENSILS: I got a set of utensils to keep in my purse and I LOVE them. It’s such an eco-friendly alternative to grabbing plastic forks and spoons when you’re out and about. I just keep them in my purse, bring them home, wash them, and put them right back in my purse. It makes me feel like I’m making a small difference on this planet by not using single use utensils.
CAULIFLOWER POWER: I couldn’t make this gift guide without doing some shameless self-promotion. I wrote a cookbook and I am SO proud of it. I bring you CAULIFLOWER POWER – 75 feel-good gluten free recipes using cauliflower in fun and creative ways. It’s all about thinking outside the floret and transforming cauliflower into nutritiously tasty recipes!
FLOWER KNIVES: I saw these flower knives and immediately they put a smile on my face. For the chef in your life, these knives may get them similarly excited. Not much more to say here except they’re cute, and fun, and make for a great gift.
INSTANT POT AIR FRYER: I recently got this air fryer and I love it so much! It has two racks so you don’t have to do a bunch of batches and comes with lots of features Not only can it air fry but it can roast, broil, bake reheat, dehydrate, and rotisserie. Plus the racks are dishwasher safe and the whole shebang is relatively easy to clean. Definitely worth checking out for the cooking enthusiast that loves playing around with new kitchen gadgets!
EXPANDABLE SHOPPING BAG: I’m obsessed with this shopping bag! Jaryd gave it to me a few years ago as a present and it has come in handy SO MUCH. It’s small enough to keep in your bag, yet it expands and expands and expands, it’s shocking really. I can’t tell you how many people have commented on this bag, amazed at how much it holds! I’m about due for another one, I’m going to get a cute color!
PILEA PLANT: I love plants. Most of my life I couldn’t keep a plant alive. But then, all of the sudden something clicked and they started staying alive. Maybe it was something that happened when I turned 30? Maybe it was something that happened when I moved to California? I don’t know what it was, but a switch switched and suddenly plants tolerate me. And then once I got a taste of keeping plants alive, I became obsessed. One of my favorite plants is this pilea plant. There’s something about it that just makes me smile and my go-to gift for people. If you have a plant lover in your life, this is such a cute one!!
HONEYMAMAS: My favorite chocolate bar! OMG these are insane! They come in a bunch of different flavors, but I’m linking to my absolute fave! If you want to try them all they have a sampler pack. I think for the chocolate lover in your life, for your health-conscious friend, this is the perfect holiday treat!
LISSE RAZOR: As someone that uses a man’s razor because women’s razors just don’t give me a close enough shave, I kind of resigned myself to never being excited about shaving. Then, one of my followers on Instagram suggested I check out Lisse and I immediately bought one! It’s a single blade, zero waste alternative to your standard woman’s razor. Their blades are 100% recyclable and are kinder on your skin. They also use clean and toxic-free ingredients for the shave soap and oil. Plus, their products are cruelty-free and they give 2% of gross razor sales to Femme International who empower young women through health and menstrual education in East Africa. I love this socially conscious, environmentally conscious, woman founded small business and immediately
THE MILKY MUDRA: Ok, this is super cool. The Milky Mudra is keepsake jewelry based on a concept of creating a gesture of remembrance, using your very own inclusions, including but not limited to breast milk, ashes, flowers, hair, umbilical stump, placenta, sand and more. You send in the item you want preserved and each piece is handmade with love and attention. I love this idea and can be such a beautiful way to remember your journey or someone special.
