Holy smokes this caramel changed muh lifeee. Here’s my deal. I really like caramel. When I was young, one of my favorite after school snacks was cut up apples and those little single serve caramel.
Traditional peanut butter cups are totally my jam. I love them. I love them too much. I wanted to make a paleo-friendly version and when I put these up on my Instagram last week, SO many of you asked for the recipe. I decided that they needed to be a permanent blog post because they were THAT good.
I remember the first time I had a “turtle.” I remember being a hardcore candy bar fan and being taken aback by the unexpected deliciousness of these unknown little mounds of tasty. Chocolate outer with gooey caramel center? Extra bonus points for that nutty crunch? Why did nobody tell me?!
So it just occurred to me that my last three (including this one) posts were peanut/nut butter related. Sorry, not sorry. Buuuut if you are so not into nut butters, my sincerest apologies. Otherwise, no regrets. Sweet potato noodles with peanut sauce? Bomb. Creamy crunchy peanut butter bars? Bomb. These almond butter chia cookies? I have no words but I’m making hand motions and nodding my head YESSS. Really really good, you guys.
SUGAR!! Bahh there was a time in my life when sugar, more specifically white granulated sugar was the ingredient I sought out most. Need. Sugar. All the sugar. Desserts, with that sugar. Gimme. I can’t believe it’s been almost 6ish years since I’ve stopped using that traditional refined white sugar of my younger years!
