When I was growing up my mom always packed my lunches for school. I loved the mix of things she packed on rotation and I loved her little napkin notes. It wasn’t until my kids started preschool that I realized how difficult packing lunch boxes can be.
I felt like last year I was SO behind on the pumpkin train. By the time I was ready to make pumpkiny things, it was Thanskgiving and I had like one day to make them all happen. Needless to say, I missed the boat. Ok, two transportation references in one paragraph? My mom brain is filled with trucks and diggers and planes and trains.
Jaryd got home from work early today. I said, “Hey will you help me out and schedule dentist appointments for the whole family?” Um, I’ll never do that again. He took probably 30 minutes discussing potential time slots with the receptionist only to suddenly be reminded of why that that date wouldn’t work, thus needing to start over again. Who knew he was so bad at making appointments?
I went to an exercise class yesterday. I generally stay away from classes because I’m pretttaaay uncoordinated and I hate the constant reminder of that lack of coordination with the wall to wall mirrors. But, I think once you get past that first hump and accept the awkward…
I’m pretty excited about pumpkin season y’all. I kind of feel ridiculous about it, actually. But! It’s September 1st and I am ready to give you some fall-inspired dishes. I’ve got plannns, you know? Pumpkiny plans. Nevermind that it’s so hot and sweaty here that I’m running out this afternoon to buy some fans… that’s besides the point.
